Pallet Stacker
Truck Training Course
Our NPORS N008 Pallet Stacker Truck course is designed for operators who work with pedestrian-operated or ride-on pallet stacker trucks in warehouse, logistics and industrial environments. Candidates learn to operate safely, handle loads correctly, and work in compliance with current health and safety legislation. On successful completion, candidates receive the NPORS N008 certification, demonstrating competence in the safe operation of pallet stacker trucks.

Course Objectives
During the NPORS N008 Pallet Stacker Truck course, candidates will be able to:

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation and their responsibilities as an operator

Identify the different types of pallet and stacker trucks and their specific applications
-
Locate and identify all major components and controls, and explain their functions
-
Carry out pre-operational checks in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements
-
Safely mount, dismount, start and stop the machine
-
Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely, both laden and unladen, in open and confined spaces
-
Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area before commencing operations
-
Carry out lifting and load handling tasks accurately and safely at different locations
-
Load and unload external transport safely

Fit, adjust and remove attachments where applicable

Demonstrate knowledge of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation

Carry out all end-of-shift and shutdown procedures correctly

Certification Validity
NPORS Operator Card (Traditional) – Valid for 3 years.
Operators are advised to complete a 1 Day NPORS Refresher Course every 3 years.
Assessment Methods
Assessment combines classroom-based theory with hands-on practical training. Both elements must be passed to achieve the NPORS N008 certification.
A supervised assessment covering legislation, safety responsibilities, machine knowledge and operational procedures.

Test
Practical Skills Assessment
A hands-on evaluation confirming the candidate can safely operate the machine in real working conditions, including load handling tasks.
Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age and in good physical health. A good understanding of English is required to engage fully with the theory element of the course. Some experience of lifting operations is advantageous but not essential for novice candidates. Mandatory PPE on site includes safety boots, a helmet and a hi-vis jacket.
