Bowtec can act as your Responsible Person

The Fire Safety Order places the duty to keep people safe from fire upon the Responsible Person.

You must undertake a fire risk assessment of the premises and review it regularly:

  • Complies with Fire Safety Regulations: By undertaking a fire risk assessment of your premises and reviewing it regularly, you ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Order. This places the responsibility of keeping people safe from fire on the Responsible Person. Demonstrating your commitment to fire safety not only fulfills legal obligations but also safeguards the well-being of employees, residents, and other relevant persons.

  •

  1. Early Detection and Prevention: Conducting regular reviews of your premises allows us to identify potential fire hazards and areas where a fire might start on your behalf. By recognising these risks, you can take proactive measures to reduce the likelihood of a fire occurrence. Recommendations derived from the fire risk assessment help implement necessary precautions and safeguards to prevent fire incidents, protecting lives and property.

  • Ensuring Safety during a Fire: The fire risk assessment also serves to keep people safe when a fire happens. By analyzing the premises, we can identify and implement specific fire safety measures to protect employees, residents, and other relevant persons. This may include ensuring the availability and functionality of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, evacuation plans, and other essential fire safety equipment and protocols.

  • Regular Review for Ongoing Safety: It is recommended to review the fire risk assessment regularly. By doing so, we can keep pace with any changes in the premises, occupancy, or operational practices that may impact fire safety. Regular reviews ensure that fire safety measures remain up-to-date and effective, providing continuous protection against fire hazards.

  • Effective Communication and Staff Training: As the Responsible Person, it is essential to inform your staff about the risks and fire safety measures within the workplace. This promotes awareness and empowers employees to act appropriately in case of a fire emergency. Providing information, fire safety instructions, and training to staff enhances their preparedness and ensures a coordinated response during critical situations.

  • Listening and Acting upon Concerns: It is crucial to foster a culture of open communication regarding fire safety concerns. Encouraging staff and customers to report any potential hazards or issues allows you to address them promptly. By listening, acknowledging, and where appropriate, acting upon information provided by others, we can proactively identify and mitigate fire safety risks, further enhancing the overall safety of the premises.

By proactively conducting fire risk assessments, implementing appropriate fire safety measures, and maintaining regular reviews, we not only comply with regulations but also create a safe environment for everyone involved. Prioritising fire safety demonstrates your commitment to the well-being of your employees, residents, and other relevant persons, minimizing the potential impact of fire incidents and ensuring their safety in emergency situations.
