Bowtec foundation rigging training

( Entry level )

Duration = 1 -1.5 days depending on delegates experience

This course is designed for individuals who need to perform very simple rigging tasks infrequently such as straight vertical lifts in a workshop under competent supervision.

The course covers the below:

  • What is rigging? 

  • Types of rigging activities

  • Hazards and risks associated with rigging

  • Legislation around lifting operations

  • Lifting teams roles and responsibilities

  • Basic rigging configurations

  • Identification of lifting equipment

  • Storage and handling equipment

  • Banksman signals

  • basic sling hitches and vertical lifting

The course has a half day theory session along with half day practical session both marked by an assessment.

Bowtec intermediate rigging training

Duration = 2 - 3 days 

This course is designed for individuals who need to perform rigging tasks quite frequently as part of their job role

The course covers the below:

  • ​All of Foundation course content

  • Calculations for rigging

  • Use of lifting equipment for angular lifting

  • Control of lifting equipment

  • Lift planning 

  • Defective equipment checks

  • Rope hitches for taglines

  • 3 and 4 leg lifting operations

  • uneven Centre of gravity lifting

The course is marked by theory and practical assessments
